Bio

Nora Jorgensen is a painter, ceramicist and early childhood educator from Northern California. Now currently based in Southern California, Jorgensen works out of her home studio.

Her paintings interrogate contemporary social realities through a symbolic language that moves fluidly between the mythic and the material. Informed by lived experiences of grief, transience, and sustained engagement with early childhood education, Jorgensen’s work is attentive to states of becoming — to growth, fragility, and the quiet architectures of care. Drawing from the natural world as both metaphor and witness, she considers impermanence not solely as loss, but as generative transformation. Through layered imagery, she constructs visual narratives that inhabit the tension between vulnerability and endurance, the ephemeral and the enduring.

Jorgensen studied Fine Art at ArtCenter College of Design.
